Àlex Villanueva, clarinet

Àlex was born in Ontinyent in 1988. He started his musical studies with Bartolomé Llorens and Rafael Fernández. He studied the medium level at Conservatori Professional de Música de València with Pere Vicente Alamá. He is graduated in Clarinet at ESMUC in 2012, where he studied with Joan Enric Lluna and had the chance to follow Master Classes from Lorenzo Coppola (historical clarinet) and Harry Spaarnay (bass clarinet). Along his career Àlex hasd been taught by Alain Damians, Ramon Barona, Antonio Saiote, Maximiliano Martín and Anthony Pay. He played the Mozart Clarinet Concerto as soloist with the Joven Orquestra Sinfónica Solidaria de Valencia (JOSSV) at the age of 15. He has performed with top players like Vicens Prats, Thomas Inthermüler, David Tomàs and Joan Enric Lluna. Since 2010 he is teacher at the summer course Ciudad de Bétera.
